Based on the short story by H.P. Lovecraft, we decided to take a more serious approach to a lovecraft story than you will see in our Beyond Lovesauce interpretation of his work. this also marks the first screenplay written by Heidi.
A GROANING BOY NEEDS HIS LUNCH (2008 or 09)
This is the gorilla zombie splatter sequel (remake?) to Breakfast Of Imbeciles. It will be shot fast and furiously in the summer or fall of 2008 and it will be released whenever the hell it's finished but it won't be released prematurely as BOI was. This truly will be high quality lo-fi B-movie trash.

Pretend It's Yesterday Again (2008)
Pretend It's Yesterday Again is complete. Despite all the problems in post it has emerged as a very entertaining short film. For a limited time it is available on our anthology in our store. It's a grinding short but we have heard from a test audience that it is empowering to women. kick ass!
The Lottery (2007)
This is not a Dura Mater Production but an Aura Pictures production adapted from the 1948 short story of the same name by Shirley Jackson . Filming took place in Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania, the resting place of ALL of Jayne Mansfield . It was fun and worthwhile. The film starred Seamus Davey-Fitzpatrick whom you might know from The Omen or Guiding Light. Too bad you'll never see it due to unforseen circumstances surrounding the production. It did screen at the 2007 Phillidelphia Film Festival and several other locations in the Eastern United States.
Summary: An adaptation of the 1948 Shirley Jackson short story of the same name --- a group of townsfolk flock to participate in the town's annual lottery. But things aren't what they seem.
Breakfast Of Imbeciles (2005)
There was talk of this being re-edited and released on DVD but plans have been altered. There is plans for a sequel (remake?) that you may have already seen mentioned here. We feel we've learned alot seen we blundered our way through this movie. Not that we hate this movie but it is a greatly flawed but fun memory. If you are forewarned it is a fun watch for many people. Check it out on our anthology.

Plot summary: 4 mildly intelligent, that's being very generous with that analysis, rock n rollers trying to make it to a gig at another dead end club, 6 socially retarded misfits, and one small deity all collide for a strange gathering in a rural farmhouse.A twisted tale of sinners sinning, suffering, and paying their dues. A hectic road trip in an autistic automible. Drug addiction, alcoholism, and child abuse. What more could you crave. How about some blasting rock n roll songs, and a few mysterious zombies for good measure all compressed into far too short of a time. Not enough for you huh? crucifixion more your thing. Well we provide one of those as well. Lofi gore effects prevail in this fun and frantic little film. Grade B prime cut!
BEYOND LOVESAUCE (complete but will be released officially in 2007)
Beyond Lovesauce is a short movie that has been planned and prepared for about a year and a half now. It was meant to be released on the Anthology LovecraCked! The movie from Biff Juggernaut Productions but that looked like it was a no go due to delays here at Dura Mater. It is finally complete so watch for it a B-movie festivals in 2007! Beyond Lovesauce is a spoof of the H.P. Lovecraft story From Beyond. Come to think of it Stuart Gordon's adaptation of From Beyond is kind of a joke despite Jeffrey Combs excellent portrayal of the protagonist. Read HP's story and then watch our thrilling tale when it's released and be astounded by the artistic splendour that surrounds you.
Probe 'the movie' (2008?)
This is definitely the most exciting thing on my agenda. Probe magazine was a staple of my reading habits through the 1990's. Not for the information that it covered which was often out of date due to the long periods between issues. More for the tales of drunken woe that always popped into the reviews and articles. Aaron Muentz was like a punk rock Bukowski without intending to go there. Often tender and insightful as well. This movie that Aaron has given his blessing to will be kind of like an abrasive "High Fidelity". We are very early in the pre-production stage of this and if I were to guess this will not be finished until 2008 or so. I'm very excited about this one though. Probe records will give you some idea of what you will be in for but the magazines themselves are way out of print i think.
