Gopher Wood is a feature length film being made on a meager budget in November 2008. The film is partly a wink to genre films of the 60's, 70's and 80's but also deals with the loss of loved ones, religious conflicts, and dark secrets.
We are happy with the everyone on the shoot. What we aren't happy with are the people who stole items from the workshed on the property which we were shooting on near Milverton, Ontario on Thursday november 13th. Stolen from the workshed were over $1000 worth of power tools and a laptop, credit cards, and other identification from the car of one of our actors, who has traveled all the way from Ottawa, to appear in the film. It's kind of a kick in the groin to the production when a thing like this happens. This is not what one usually expects in a rural farming area but i guess this type of thing can happen anywhere. Sad.
Last but not least, we are still looking for people who want to help out on the crew. Production assistants are very handy to have around. Experience is not required but enthusiasm would be great!
The bulk of the movie will be shot from November 8th to 18th.
